What are the rules in Saudi Arabia for Indians?

Riyadh, Jan. 19- Saudi Arabia has made it mandatory for Indians to verify their professional and educational qualifications before applying for a work visa. The move came into effect on January 14.

The West Asian country has implemented a new system to improve its labor market and achieve its goal of maintaining high standards by 2030.

Six months ago, it was proposed to restrict the influx of workers into the labor market, limit the capacity of training centers and ensure high-quality professionalism.

Accordingly, it will now be mandatory for the owner or human resources manager of Saudi Arabian companies to verify the professional and educational qualifications of Indian workers.

Indians are the second largest foreign nationals living in Saudi Arabia, after Bangladeshis.

Nearly 2.4 million Indians are working there, according to data from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
