Sensex slump over 1000 points

Mumbai: Sensex fell over 1000 points in Indian stock market trading. Nifty fell below 23,100 points.

Why did the Sensex fall by over 1000 points yesterday?

Indian stock market indices ended with a decline for the fifth consecutive day. At the close of trade, the Nifty was below 23,100. In the Nifty 50 index, 4 stocks ended in the green and 46 stocks in the red. The 30-share Sensex fell 1,018.20 points, or 1.32 percent, to 76,293.60, while the Nifty fell 309.80 points, or 1.32 percent, to 23,071.80.

In today’s trade, Adani Enterprises, Krisham, Trent, Bharti Airtel rose, while Apollo Hospitals, Eicher Motors, Shriram Finance, Coal India, Bharat Electronic fell.

Bank, auto, metal and IT stocks fell. Also, the stock market has suffered a major decline due to the quarterly results of listed companies that were not as expected, US trade policy, FII, and outflows.
