Tamil Nadu Agriculture Department Officer Job Selection, Public Service Selection Commission (TNPSC) has released notification for direct recruitment of Assistant Agricultural Officer (AAO) and Assistant Horticulture Officer (AHO) in Tamil Nadu Agriculture Extension Sub-post and Tamil Nadu Horticulture Sub-post respectively. The notification was released on November 26, 2023 and the application process is currently open.

Eligibility Limit

To be eligible for AAO and AHO posts, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

Age: Candidates should be between 18 to 37 years as on January 1, 2023.

Educational Qualification: AAO: Candidates should have Bachelor Degree in Agriculture or any other related science degree with minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. AHO: Candidates should possess Diploma in Horticulture or any other related Science Diploma with minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.

Tamil Nadu Agriculture Department Assistant Officer Post 84, Vacancies: Tamil Nadu Horticulture Department has 179 Assistant Horticulture Officer post, total 263 vacancies. Basic Salary Rs.20,600 will be provided at the starting position.

Language Proficiency: Candidates should be proficient in Tamil and English.

Application Procedure

The application process for AAO and AHO posts is online. Candidates can apply through the official website of TNPSC www.tnpsc.gov.in. Application Fee Rs. 250 for general category Rs. 150 for SC, ST and OBC candidates.

Last date to apply online: December 24, 2023

Date of Written Test: 7th February will be conducted.

Selection process

Candidates will be selected on the basis of written test and interview. The written test will consist of two papers: Paper I (General Science and Agriculture) and Paper II (Horticulture and Agriculture Extension). Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed.
