Around 6 lakh people appeared for this exam across the country.

More than 600 people from Tamil Nadu have participated in it. The main examination was conducted from 15th to 24th September.

Apart from this, the results of 28 people have been put on hold due to court cases, UPSC said. 132 students from Tamil Nadu have passed the main examination.
Interview in Delhi
In this case, those who have passed the main 5 examination will have to participate in the interview. The interview will be held next month at 4 UPSC office in Delhi. Departmental officials said that additional information including the schedule will be announced soon on the UPSC website.
63% of Civil Services Mains Candidates are Engineers.
According to the central government, 63 percent of those who passed the civil service main examination (main exam) from 2017 to 2021 were engineering graduates.
Union Minister of State for Personnel Affairs Jitendra Singh replied to a question raised by BJP member Sushil Kumar Modi in the Rajya Sabha.
From 2017 to 2021, 4,371 candidates have cleared the Civil Services Main Examination. Of these, 2,783 or 63 percent are engineering graduates. 1,033 people or 23 percent are graduates in social science subjects. 315 are science graduates and 240 are doctors.
Out of the 4,371 who passed the main examination in these 5 years, 3,337 were undergraduates and 1,034 were postgraduates.
