To understand the financial planning of urban women in India,
TBS Bank, in association with CRISIL, conducted a study on ‘Women and Finance’. 47 percent of women earners living in metros make financial decisions independently, the study found. Also, most of the women earners participate actively in long-term family decisions, such as children’s education and retirement planning.
Emphasis has also been revealed. Among working women, it has been revealed that people above 45 years of age are the main decision makers in the family and mutual funds are the most sought after investment among women.
Women are also showing interest in using digital payment methods. Most of the young women are looking for digital transaction facility through UPI.
